Where Offshoring Gets Personal

There's a version of offshoring that lives entirely in Teams threads and status updates. It works — but it doesn't grow the way it could. The partnerships that go the distance are the ones built on something more than task management. That's the idea behind our client evenings, and recently we took that idea to Australia.

Sydney: Cocktails, Dinner, and the Conversations That Matter

Our third Satellite Office client evening in Sydney followed a similar spirit and delivered in its own way.

The night opened with a cocktail-making session that revealed more than a few hidden talents, before moving into a relaxed dinner and another round of Turbo Talks. Ben Christie of GourmetAds and Sam Harding of Wisr both shared their offshoring journeys with the group — what they've learned, what's evolved, and how they think about building offshore teams that stick.

It was exactly the kind of conversation that's hard to replicate on a call.

Melbourne: Trivia Night and Turbo Talks

In Melbourne, we hosted a trivia night and paired it with Turbo Talks, short sessions where clients take the mic and share what's actually been working in their offshore teams.

Between competitive trivia rounds and candid conversations, clients weren't just networking — they were learning from each other. Real experiences, real outcomes, shared openly.

It was a reminder that the best insights on offshoring don't always come from us. They come from the people doing it every day. We were glad to give them a room.

Why We Do This

Offshoring works best when it's built on real partnerships. And real partnerships are easier to build in person, over a drink, away from the inbox.

These evenings aren't just a thank you to our clients — though they are that too. They're an investment in the kind of relationships that make the work better for everyone involved: our clients, their teams, and the people at Satellite Office supporting them every day.

To everyone who joined us in Melbourne and Sydney — thank you for coming, for sharing, and for making both nights what they were!

We're already looking forward to the next one.
